This Goyard Plumet Pocket Wallet in sunshine yellow with its original plastic still in place — the most eloquent sign of a bag barely out of the store — is an exceptional piece in the brand's most summery color. Goyard does not advertise. Grade A yellow pieces are rare.
Maison Goyard was founded in 1853 at 233 rue Saint-Honoré in Paris — an address etched in the history of French luxury and printed on every piece of the house, including this Plumet. With over 170 years of existence, Goyard is one of the few French houses still independent: it does no advertising, signs no muses, and voluntarily limits its distribution. This is exactly what makes each piece so valuable: it's not found in every department store, and this sunshine yellow doesn't get restocked on a whim.
The Plumet Pocket Wallet is a hybrid format between a bag and a wallet — ultra-flat at 0.5 cm thick, with a well-organized main compartment (card slots, zippered coin pocket, main compartment) and a back slip pocket that provides immediate access to a phone or cards without having to open the bag. The Goyardine canvas — a hand-painted Y chevron pattern with three superimposed colors on coated cotton — is a traditional artisanal technique that has not changed since the 19th century. This sunshine yellow, with its matching leather trim and silver hardware, is particularly bright and perfectly suited for summer looks: a bag that does all the chromatic work on its own.
